The above-referred civil suit for money damages for personal injuries was tried before a jury from October 12 to 17,1995; the jury rendered a verdict for the plaintiff for $1.5 million. The defendants have moved to set aside the verdict as excessive, not supported by the facts, contrary to the law and the evidence, and/or based on erroneous instructions. The defendants ask this court to render judgment for the defendants or order a new trial on all issues or put the plaintiff on terms to accept a remittitur.
