The plaintiff and the defendants were owners, as tenants in common, of the premises in question, the plaintiff being the owner of an undivided one-half. All joined in a written lease of the premises to the defendants for the term of five years from January 1, 1906, at a rent of $2,400 for the first year, $3,000 for the second year, and $3,600 for each year thereafter, payable in monthly installments in advance.
