The plaintiffs (appellants) in this case have plans to construct and operate an “alpine slide” on Sawnee Mountain in Forsyth County. The defendants (appellees) are county officials and employees responsible for zoning. When defendants declined to give approval for the project plaintiffs began this action seeking mandamus for the purpose of compelling approval and issuance of necessary permits.
