The defendant, Thomas Hall, was charged with murder; General Statutes § 53a-54a;1 in connection with the shooting of James “Bro” Robinson. Following a jury trial, he was convicted of the lesser included offense of manslaughter in the first degree, in violation of General Statutes § 53a-55 (a) (l),2 and *581was sentenced to a term of imprisonment of not less than ten nor more than twenty years.
