Plaintiffs filed the present action against the defendant in Wayne Circuit Court under the Civil Rights Act, MCL 37.2101 et seq.; MSA 3.548(101) et seq., alleging that Valerie Eide was sexually harassed during her employment with the defendant. Craig Eide sought damages for loss of consortium resulting from the sexual harassment suffered by his wife. A jury trial was held and a verdict was returned in favor of the plaintiffs, awarding Mrs. Eide $240,000 in compensatory damages and $32,000 in exemplary dam ages.
