OPINION
BOGGS, Circuit Judge.
Robert Suarez, a former police officer, was convicted by a jury of two violations of 18 U.S.C. § 666(a)(1)(A) for converting police evidence and victim restitution money *472to his own benefit. He was acquitted of several other charges, most notably bribery counts, and dozens of other charges, mainly having to do with violations of the Travel Act, were dismissed prior to trial.
