Claimant, Robert Pierce, filed an application for adjustment of his claim under the Workers’ Compensation Act (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1981, ch. 48, par. 138.1 et seq.) for injuries he sustained while employed by TeePak, Inc. An arbitrator awarded benefits to claimant for permanent total disability and medical expenses. At the same time, the arbitrator granted a credit of $9,647.93 to Tee-Pak for payments made to claimant under a benefit program which ensures a full salary to Tee-Pak employees who are off work due to an accident or illness.
