W. F. Collins and wife filed their petition with the District Court of Dallas County to adopt a minor child who had been declared dependent and neglected, and who had been awarded to the care and custody of Sam Davis, Chief Probation Officer of Dallas County, Texas. Other parties intervened and filed their petition to adopt the same child. The trial court, after a hearing before the court without a jury, entered judgment deneying the petition of respondents and dismissing that of inter venors.
