SHEPARD, Justice.

This is a direct appeal from a jury convietion for rape, a class B felony, Ind.Code § 35-42-4-1(a) (Burns 1985 Repl.). Appellant-defendant, Thomas L. Palmer, received a prison term of twenty years.
