The petitioner, Oliver Blackwell, was convicted for the offense of manslaughter in the second degree, in the circuit court of Walker county. Judgment of conviction was pronounced against him on November 30, 1920, and by such judgment he was duly sentenced to confinement in the. county jail for 12 months.
