HARTZ, Circuit Judge.
The first task of an appellant is to explain to us why the district court’s decision was wrong. Recitation of a tale of apparent injustice may assist in that task, but it cannot substitute for legal argument. Later the appellant may have the additional burden of responding to the appellee’s arguments that the district court’s judgment can be affirmed on grounds not relied upon by that court.
