GUITTARD, Chief Justice.

Robert Muns appeals from the property division in a divorce decree. He contends that the trial court erred in awarding Doris Muns twenty-five percent of his military retirement benefits which, he asserts, are his separate property because of the parties’ residence in common-law property states during most of the period of his military service. We affirm on the ground that under section 3.63 of the Texas Family Code (Vernon 1975), the trial court had authority to award the wife a substantial interest in the retirement benefits, even though they may have been mostly…
