Robert St. Pierre, who has twice been convicted of a double murder and twice sentenced to death, cannot decide what he wants to do about that situation. Indeed, from the time he was first arrested for the crimes up to and including his appeals in this court in his federal habeas corpus proceeding, he has flipped and flopped, waived and withdrawn waivers, to the point where it is practically impossible to know what his preferences are for the handling of his case.
