This is a petition for a writ of certiorari to quash the proceedings of the municipal council of the city of Attleboro in which, acting as a board of appeal under G. L. (Ter. Ed.) c. 40, § 30, as inserted by St. 1933, c. 269, § 1, and amended by St. 1935, c. 388, it granted a permit to one Duffy to alter and convert a building, located in a residential district of the city, into a business (an undertaking) establishment. In so doing the board acted upon Duffy’s appeal from a decision of the building inspector of the city denying the permit.
