MEMORANDUM OPINION

JOHN D. BATES, District Judge.

A jury trial commenced in this case on April 23, 2008. At the close of plaintiff Emile Mazloum’s case-in-chief, all defendants moved for judgment as a matter of law. The Court granted the Fed.R.Civ.P. 50(a) motion with respect to the assault and battery claims against Officers Phillips, Modlin, and Schneider but denied all of the other motions. At the close of the defense case, the defendants renewed their Rule 50 motions, which the Court took under advisement. The case went to the jury on May 2, 2008.
