Appellants, District 50, United Mine Workers of America, and Local Union No. 15149 of District 50, United Mine Workers of America, instituted a suit in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee under § 301(a) of the Labor Management Relations Act, 29 U.S.C. § 185(a), to compel the Appellee, Chris-Craft Corporation, to arbitrate the discharges of eight of the Appellee’s employees.
