The testator, Jacob Van Pelt, died on the 9th day of October, 1856, at the. age of seventy-seven years. He was twice married. By the first wife he had ten children, of whom seven survived Mm, and two others had died not long before him, leaving issue. After the death of his first wife he married a widow having several children. There were no children of the second marriage. During his early life he was an oysterman.
