The petitioner, Michael Diamontopoulas, appeals the Superior Court {Brennan, J.) denial, without a hearing, of his pro se petition for a writ of habeas corpus, arguing that a guilty plea he entered in 1980 was not entered knowingly and voluntarily. We affirm.

In May 1980, the petitioner entered a guilty plea to one count of attempting to obtain a controlled drug by using a forged prescription. See RSA 318-B:20 (Supp. 1979) (now codified at RSA 318-B:2, XH-a (Supp. 1994)). Pursuant to a plea agreement with the State, the Superior Court {Contas, J.) sentenced the petitioner to six months,…
