On April 1, 1949, Scott County adopted a county zoning* ordinance in accordance with chapter 358A, 1958 Code. The ordinance provided that any school district or township in the county could adopt the provisions of the ordinance by filing a document in the office of the county recorder, signed by a majority of real property owners in the district. One of the provisions of the ordinance was that there should not be erected a one-family residence in the district on less than one acre of ground.
