This is an action of assumpsit commenced by the appellee, Sangamon Loan & Trust Company, receiver for the Northern Life Insurance Company, against the Peoples Savings Bank & Trust Company, appellant, to recover on a certificate of deposit for $2,500 issued by the Peoples Savings Bank & Trust Company, to the Northern Life Insurance Company, and which had been deposited by the Northern Life Insurance Company as a part of the securities required by the statute to be deposited with the superintendent of insurance and which under an…
