WHICHARD, Justice.
In February 1989 defendant pled guilty to the first-degree murders of his stepmother, Alta Heatwole, and a security guard, John Garrison. On appeal this Court found prejudicial error under McKoy v. North Carolina, 494 U.S. 433, 108 L. Ed. 2d 369 (1990), and remanded for a new capital sentencing proceeding. State v. Heatwole, 333 N.C. 156, 423 S.E.2d 735 (1992). Upon resentencing, the jury again recommended sentences of death for each murder. Defendant now appeals from these sentences. We find no prejudicial error and hold that defendant received a fair capital sentencing…
