We are called upon to review a verdict and judgment for $15,000 against appellant, J. Cabell Messick, for personal injuries sustained by appellee, Nellie McLane Barham.
The accident occurred about 7:30 p. m., May 25, 1950, on the northerly side of Linden avenue, in the city of Hampton. Linden avenue extends westerly and easterly between straight lines. The vehicular portion of the avenue is 34 feet wide from curb to curb. The sidewalk for pedestrians on its northerly side, at the point of the accident, is proximately 13 feet wide.
