Ruzicka Electric and Sons, Inc. (Ruzicka Electric) sued Local 1 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (Local 1) under section 303 of the Labor Management Relations Act (LMRA), 29 U.S.C. § 187, alleging Local 1 engaged in unlawful secondary activity, in violation of 29 U.S.C. § 158(b)(4)(ii)(B). Ruzicka Electric also brought state law defamation claims against Local 1 for statements made by its agents questioning the quality of Ruzicka Electric’s work.
