LEO, Senior Judge:

In accordance with his pleas, the appellant was convicted at a special court-martial before a military judge alone of two specifications of unauthorized absence and wrongful use of marijuana, in violation of Articles 86 and 112a, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 U.S.C. §§ 886 and 912a (1994). He was sentenced to confinement for 60 days, forfeiture of $600 pay per month for six months, reduction to E-l, and a bad conduct discharge. The convening authority approved the sentence, as adjudged.
