In this suit, plaintiff-appellant Monique Benn brings claims of false arrest and malicious prosecution against Detectives John Kissane and Christopher Bollerman of the New York Police Department. 1 In particular, Benn argues that Detectives Kissane and Bollerman lacked probable cause to arrest her for arson and homicide in connection with a house fire that took place in Queens County, New York, on the evening of July 18, 2006.
