In the year 1871 the original bill of Valentine and Franklin against Isaac Paul and Sons was filed in the Circuit Court of Rockingham county, seeking to enforce a judgment in favor of the plaintiffs against the defendants. This cause soon developed into a general creditors’ suit, not only against the partnership of Isaac Paul and Sons, but against the individual members of the firm, which was composed o'f Isaac Paul and his sons, William I.
