This appeal arose out of quo warranto proceedings brought by plaintiffs Larry Coker and Hillard Shasteen, challenging the authority of defendants Edward Owen and Inus Mullins to hold certain offices in the village of Broughton, Illinois. Plaintiffs were granted leave to file the quo warranto action in their capacities as elected president and elected trustee, respectively, and as rival claimants to those offices.
