On May 29, 1956, Burton Junior Post, the petitioner in this habeas corpus proceeding, entered separate pleas of guilty to a total of twelve serious felony indictments in the Circuit Court of Roane County, West Virginia. Three of those indictments charged crimes of armed robbery ; two charged kidnapping; five more charged breaking and entering or entering without breaking; and the remaining two charged forgery.
