This is an appeal from a judgment entered upon the verdict of a jury in a libel action, based upon the publication of a newspaper article quoted in part in our former opinion in this cause. See Bowerman v. Detroit Free Press, 279 Mich. 480. On the first trial the jury awarded plaintiff substantial damages against defendant Detroit Free Press and nominal damages against defendant Roy Stiles, who was in charge in the city of Lapeer of the circulation of defendant’s newspaper.
