Suit before a justice of the peace for an injury to property, in which the damages claimed were two hundred dollars. It was not a suit in which the title to lands came in question. It was dismissed below for want of jurisdiction. It was commenced after the Acts of 1801 came 'into force. The dismissal was error. An act passed March 11, 1801, declares that “justices of the peace shall have jurisdiction to try and determine suits founded on contract or tort, where the debt or damage claimed, or the value of the property sought to be recovered, does not exceed one hundred dollars, and concurrent…
