Following a jury trial, defendant, Franklin Burchette, was convicted on three counts of murder (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1983, ch. 38, par. 9 — 1) and sentenced to natural life in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Defendant now appeals. We affirm.

The issues for review by this court are (1) whether defendant was afforded effective assistance of counsel on the basis that he did not receive conflict-free representation (i) because he filed a disciplinary complaint against defense counsel which created a conflict of interest, and (ii) because defense counsel was employed on a part-time basis as a…
