Eldridge v. Unumprovident Corp.

This is a class action brought by two named plaintiffs representing several thousand insurance brokers challenging a decision by the defendants to change the method by which they paid broker commissions on certain disability insurance policies. Although a jury found in favor of the defendants on the plaintiffs’ breach of contract claim, this Court (Toomey, J.) concluded following a bench trial that the defendants had violated G.L.c. 93A.
