1Opinion of the Court

The opinion of the court was delivered by

Johnson, J.:

Christopher A. Belone seeks review of the Court of Appeals’ decision affirming his convictions for second-degree murder, kidnapping, and other crimes related to the beating death of Linda Begay, his long time companion. Belone raises a number of issues, but our agreement with his claim that the trial court violated his right of confrontation by admitting testimonial statements into evidence and our determination that the error was not *500harmless dispose of this appeal. Accordingly, we reverse and remand for a new trial.
