In May, 1923, the town of West Springfield passed a zoning by-law limiting certain districts to residential uses. The plaintiff, in December, 1924, occupied a building, erected by him after the passage of the zoning by-law, and therein carried on the grocery and provision business, “which was a nonconforming business use in a residential district”; and he has continued to conduct his business in this building.
