Defendant was charged jointly with Louis Edward Williams with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder contrary to MCLA 750.316; MSA 28.548 and MCLA 750.157a; MSA 28.354(1) in the August 5, 1971, killing of Samuel Royal in Detroit, Michigan. Following trial which commenced on June 5, 1975, a Detroit Recorder’s Court jury found both defendants guilty as charged on each count on June 12, 1975. On the same date, both defendants were sentenced to a term of life imprisonment on each charge. Defendant Scotts now appeals those convictions and sentences, raising several issues…
