PEIEST, District Judge.

The defendant, a youth of 17 years, has been arraigned under an information charging him with hav-*943iug embezzled a letter containing an article of value, which had been in the post office of the United States at St. Louis, and had not been delivered totheperson addressed, namely, the Druggist Publishing Company. Defendant, having no counsel, expressed a desire to plead guilty to the charge, and, in order to gauge the punishment, inquiry was made concerning the circumstances of the offense.
