Plaintiff/ subcontractor brought this action in assumpsit seeking, in the absence of an actual contract between the parties, quasi-contractual recovery from the owner of land, Judith Rothman, for the value of improvements made to the land. Following a trial held before the trial judge sitting without a jury, a general verdict was entered in favor of plaintiff and against defendant, Judith Rothman, in the amount of $10,165.94 plus interest. Defendant, Rothman, *328filed post-trial motions asserting that the verdict was against the weight of the evidence and contrary to the law.1
