Respondent father in this custody dispute moves, inter alia, *241for appointment of a Law Guardian for the children. At the initial court appearance the court had assigned the New York Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children, hereinafter SPCC, as guardian ad litem for the two children, ages seven and nine, but did not assign a Law Guardian pursuant to Family Court Act §249.
