During a period of several years prior to January 16, 1902, when the defendant, First National Bank of Mansfield, received its charter and commenced to do business, James C. Langley was successively the cashier of the Commercial Bank of Mansfield and the State Bank of Mansfield. Upon the organization of the defendant bank Langley became its. cashier and continued in that capacity until the fall of 1906, when he was found to be a defaulter to said bank in about the sum of $68,000.
