In April, 1879, Samuel Bransford was killed by the explosion of a steam boiler used at the time in running a saw mill. Amanda D. Bransford, widow of Samuel Bransford, brought this action for the recovery of damages for the killing of her husband against *234J. H. Young, C. H. Throp’ and 3". F. Shaw. Upon the trial the jury rendered a verdict in favor of the plaintiff against the defendants for $4,000, and defendants appealed in error.
