On November 1st, 1902, the township of Ewing, in the county of Mercer, passed an ordinance granting to the Trenton, Pennington and Hopewell' Street Railway Company, one of the complainants, permission and right to construct, maintain and operate a street railway upon the Pennington road in that township, and at or aboui the same time the board of .chosen freeholders of the county of Mercer also passed an ordinance granting permission to the railway company named to construct its railway along the Pennington road in the township of Ewing.
