May 13, 1942, Joseph Panczko and Walter Jedyenak were convicted in the criminal court of Cook county of the crime of burglary. They were sentenced to imprisonment in the penitentiary for indeterminate terms of from one year to life. The trial judge made advisory recommendations that the minimum and maximum limits of their imprisonment be not less than two and not more than five years. Both defendants prosecuted a writ of error, and, upon a review of the record, this court decided that they had been legally convicted. (People v. Panczko, 381 Ill. 625.)
