City Magistrate. This is a hearing on a summons with the usual stipulation of counsel on both sides that, if in the opinion of the court the facts warrant it, a complaint may be ordered and defendant held to answer.

It is charged that the defendant committed the crime of grand larceny bv means of false pretenses.
