STEPHENS, District Judge.

At all times material to this action, plaintiff Ben H. Adelson was a duly certified and licensed teacher at the secondary education level in the Los Angeles City School System. He taught English language and literature courses, various reading courses and journalism. During the spring term of 1958, plaintiff was on sabbatical leave from his employer pursuant to the rules and regulations of the California State Board of Education and the local school district (as will be more particularly described below) and during this time and the ensuing summer he traveled in…
