The action in this case was at law on a promissory note dated August 12, 1930, for the sum of $210,000. It was made payable to the National Bank of the Republic of Chicago; the makers were the appellants in this case; the note was later assigned to the Chicago Trust Company, a banking corporation, and by the latter to the Central Bank and Trust Company, the name of which was later changed to the Central Republic Trust Company.
