This is a death penalty case. Fred Marion Gilreath, Jr., appeals his convictions and sentences to death for the murders of his wife and his father-in-law.

On May 11, 1979, Dempsey Wolfenbarger went to the Mableton Precinct of the Cobb County Police where he spoke with Corporal J. E. Davis. Wolfenbarger told Davis he was concerned about the safety of his stepdaughter, Linda Gilreath.
