The plaintiff, Susan Neiman, brought this action against her former employer, the defendant, Yale University (Yale), alleging breach of contract, breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing and negligent misrepresentation arising out of Yale’s failure to offer her a tenured appointment to its faculty. The trial court granted Yale’s motion to dismiss the plaintiffs claims because the plaintiff had not exhausted Yale’s internal grievance procedures before filing her action.
