Appellant Jermyl Moody was convicted by a jury of two counts of possession of a controlled substance (ecstasy and marijuana), 1 unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, 2 carrying a pistol without a license (CPWL), 3 unlawful possession of ammunition, 4 and possession of an unregistered firearm. 5 Two months later, appellant filed a motion for a new trial based on newly discovered evidence.
