HAMILTON, Senior Circuit Judge:
In this employment discrimination case, Renee Lowery (Lowery) and Lisa Peterson (Peterson), among others, alleged that Circuit City intentionally refused to promote them on account of their race, African-American, in violation of 42 U.S.C. § 1981 and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII), 42 U.S.C. § 2000e-2(a)(1).
