Defendant is charged with kidnapping in the first degree. Following arraignment in a local criminal court in this county *68on October 7, 1996, he was remanded without bail pending action of the Grand Jury. The felony complaint alleges that on October 4, 1996, defendant abducted two 16-year-old girls from a residence in this county resulting in the death of the two girls.
